Apply to hydrangeas to change flowers to pink colour. Also deepens existing pink colouring and raises soil pH. Supplies calcium carbonate, which is needed to assist changing blue and purple flowers to pink and to maintain vibrant pink colouring.
An easy to use liquid formulation, Yates Hydrangea Pinking Liquid Lime Dolomite is easy to dilute and apply. It also contains magnesium for healthy green foliage. No handling of dusty powders.
Features
Soil pH affects the colour of hydrangea flowers:
- Acidic soil (pH 4.5-5.5) will produce blue flowers
- Less acidic soil (pH 5.5 to 7) will produce pale, purplish flowers
- Alkaline soil (pH 7 to 8.5) will turn flowers pink
- To make soil more acidic, use Yates Soil Acidifier Liquid Sulfur
Application: Soil drench, applying to moist soil around plant
Rate: Mix 25ml to 5L water and apply with watering can
Frequency: Every 3-4 weeks
Timing: Apply any time of the year or after winter pruning to adjust and maintain flower colour
Area: 5L/5m²
For best results, check the soil pH before and during treatment (at least every 3 months). The optimum soil pH to ensure pink flowers is 7.5-8.5. Do not raise soil pH above this range as it could lead to plant damage. It is best to apply many smaller treatments rather than a single large treatment. To raise the pH of highly acidic soil will require a large number of repeat applications.

- Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight - keep out of reach of children and pets

- Do not swallow
- The spray from this product may act as an irritant. Avoid inhalation and contact with the eyes and skin
- Wear appropriate skin and eye protection when mixing and applying product
- Wash hands and affected parts on contact
Caution
- DO NOT over apply spray leading to run off
- DO NOT apply during flowering
- DO NOT mix with nitrogen fertilisers, as this may increase the risk of leaf burn
- DO NOT apply when maximum temperature is expected to reach above 25°C or if the plant is suffering moisture stress
- Always apply to moist soil
- Apply during early morning or late afternoon when evaporation will be less

Lowers the pH of soil - required when growing acid loving plants such as camellias, azaleas, rhododendrons, magnolias and blueberries.
